Nathan Bedford Forrest (July 13,1821-October 29,1877) led a cavalry charge into the American Civil War. He was the first Grand Dragon of the KKK, but later discended form the organization. Forrest later was accused of war crimes against black Union Army and white Souther Unionist prisoners at the Battle of Fort Pillow.
